Lauren & Brian got married at The Dunes Club in Narragansett Rhode Island last month and it was absolutely spectacular. We cannot wait to show you their video too, which was SO epic! It might’ve rained this day, but you would never know! We braved the storm and the result is just so sweet! We can’t wait till we finish this full gallery, but for now here’s a sneak peek of their big day:
Meet: Lauren + Brian
When we get contacted to photograph an elopement, we get so excited. It combines all the things we love about a wedding in a more intimate setting with just a handful of the couple’s closest family and friends. While we’ve only done a couple of these, they’re turning out to be some of our favorites to photograph.
Allie & Dan’s love story is remarkable. They met while in León, Nicaragua in early 2014. . Allie was staying on a friend’s couch in a house where Dan sometimes used the refrigerator (it’s a long story). Soon after meeting, they began finding any opportunity to see each other. Both spending their days volunteering, they passed weekends traveling on hot, crowded buses to meet up at the beach, climb volcanoes, cycle on dirt roads, and talk for hours over tostones con queso.
Three short months after meeting, they parted ways in Nicaragua, not sure of what the future held but certain they would remain in one another’s lives. While Allie finished university in Boston and Dan pursued his qualifications in rock climbing in England, little by little they met each other’s worlds through visits with family and loved ones. It wasn’t all tearful Skype calls, though of those there were some — they continued to find adventures wherever life took them, whether to the southwest coast of England, Boston’s culture-clashing Freedom Trail, or the highest peak in the rainforests of Rwanda.
After two years of long distance, they found that new and more long-term opportunities in Nicaragua were calling them back to the place where they first met. Dan set to work starting a sustainable adventure tour company and photography business, and Allie worked for a cooperative loan fund.
But most importantly, they were able to start a life and build a community together. Over those two years they welcomed family and friends to visit our home in León, and made so many more. They decided to spend the rest of our lives together after taking a look into their future and agreeing that they couldn’t imagine it any other way but learning and growing by each others’ sides.
Allie & Dan tied the knot at a local park in Narragansett, RI. Although it was POURING out, they braved the weather and made it such an incredibly fun time. Nothing stopped these two. They ditched the umbrellas and even took a dip in the pool. We are SO HONORED to have captured their love story and this next chapter in their lives.
Meet: Allie & Dan
Nicole & Pete are two people who are clearly made for one another. Both of them have so much fun in everything they do. From photographing their getting ready, ceremony and reception they had us dying laughing or in tears for how beautiful their day was. Seriously! (Although that's not abnormal for me, I think I cry at every wedding. What can I say? I'm a big sucker for love). Nicole & Pete made me feel like I was just another one of their bffs on the wedding day. They didn't want stuck up formal photos of themselves and they didn't want a ton of family formals. They just wanted to have fun. So I made sure that happened. I even got on the dance floor and whipped out a few moves (I'll spare you the agony of seeing that) We had a blast photographing their day and cannot wait to show everyone all their photos. On a misty Saturday in September, Beth & Joe decided to tie the knot at The Towers in Narragansett. Although the weather wasn't the best, that didn't stop Beth & Joe. We braved the incoming storm and walked away with some beautiful photos. I was so excited for Beth & Joe's big day from the moment they contacted me. From the beautiful hidden treasures where we took their portraits at, to their killer dance performance mid way through their reception. It couldn't have been anymore fun. Today marks 1 month for these two and I couldn't have thought of a better gift than a little sneak peek into their day. I can't wait to show you the rest.

Maggie + Tyler are the sweetest couple ever. From the first time we spoke, all the way to their wedding day they were so kind and so loving. They both took time out of their busy lives to meet with me multiple times before their big day, and it soon started to feel like I was meeting up with friends rather than clients.
Their wedding in Weekapaug couldn't have turned out better. At the start of the day, we thought mother nature wasn't going to be so nice to us since it was pouring out. That didn't change Maggie & Tyler's attitude. They kept positive and it all worked out in the end! Just around the time Jenn and I arrived, the rain stopped and the skies cleared up (I maybe prayed a couple of times driving down to have the rain go away haha!) From the beautiful backyard her uncle provided, to the delicious food by A Thyme to Cook, and to end the night with the amazing band East Coast Soul (seriously, if you're getting married, check these guys out), the day turned out perfect.
We can't wait to share more photos from their big day but for now...Here are some highlights!

Planning a wedding is hard work. It takes a lot of time, effort, patience, and love. But planning a wedding when you live about 300 miles away, is even harder. Alex & John both live in Pennsylvania. Even though they would have loved to stay close to their home and celebrate, they wanted all of their family and friends to be with them to celebrate. If you're thinking that an out of state wedding won't work, take a look at how their day went. It was a fricken ball to photograph.
These two were fun, so laid back and perfectly in love. Each of their family & friends we're just as fun...One bridesmaid really KILLED IT on the dance floor and started a dance battle (pictured below, she was also at one point was found bowing down to the bride. I found it pretty hilarious) Seriously though, you all rocked!
I had such a blast meeting you two and capturing your day and I can't wait to talk to you both again. Right now, you should be enjoying some type of alcoholic beverage on the beach in Punta Cana. You two deserve it.

Now that the 2015 wedding season is officially over and I don't have too much editing to do, I like to go back through the thousand of images we took over the season and find awesome photos or even whole weddings that I didn't blog during the hectic busy months! Today, I stumbled across this gem: Lindsay & Marco's wedding.
I photographed Lindsay & Marco's wedding with the amazing Scott Zuehlke Photography. Scott and I know each other through Hallmark, and any time he needs me to second shoot for him, I'll readily jump at the opportunity. We had a blast with this one! I gotta tell ya - If you can afford having a live band at your wedding, it'll make all the difference. They really know how to get the crowd going and well, the photos can speak for themselfs. Enjoy!
