RI Family Portraits: The Silvia Family

I just love it when I get to photograph families. It brings me back to a few years ago when I started this business. All I photographed were portraits and families. Capturing their special relationship with one another and their family as a whole has always made me smile behind the camera, and Brittany's family wasn't any different.

I've known Brittany since high school. We graduated together, and she was actually one of the first ever people to be photographed by me. I was able to capture her senior portrait :) So we go way back! When she contacted me about a family portrait session, I was beyond excited! We decided to go with a beach session and prayed to God that it wouldn't rain and we finally got lucky one day this month!

I hope you all enjoy. I think you can definitely tell how much fun we had with this session :)

Fashion Editorial Session: Lorena

It's not often that someone contacts me to photograph anything fashion related, however some of my close friends know that fashion photography was something I saw myself doing after school. Some of my professors at Hallmark even told me that my wedding photography had a hint of fashion influence in it. So when Lorena, a close friend of mine, contacted me and told me she wanted to dabble into modeling and needed some portfolio images, I was eager to help her out!

We braved downtown Providence in cold 15-20 degree weather and killed it. Check it out and let me know what you think!

RI Family Portraits: The Johnson Family

As a photographer, you love when one of your previous clients wants to do work with you again. That means that you made such an impression on them the first time that they wouldn't think of hiring anyone else but yourself to photograph them again. In this case, Kathy contacted me last year about her daughter's senior portraits. We had such a blast photographing Mackenzie and Kelly last year that when Kathy told me she wanted to do some family portraits in the snow, I immediately texted her and said "there's a snow storm Thursday! Let's do it!" She was totally up for it!

We had a blast in the snow. Lincoln Woods was the perfect place to head after the storm. Sure we maybe froze our feet off, but it was overall such a fun time! After we got moving, it didn't even feel like it was that cold out.

I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks to our fun time together!

Thais | MA Senior Portrait Photography

Sometimes you have to go back to the basics, to the bones of where your business started. For me, this was about 4 1/2 years ago when I was fresh out of school and photographed a ton of high school seniors. Over the years I've been lucky enough to photograph a ton of these guys and gals and it's been a blast. I love that I get a little bit more time with a portrait session, so we can really explore our choice of location and find spots that create beautiful images. It gives us some time to get to know one another, have some good laughs, and allows them to open up and enjoy their session even more.

If you're thinking about doing a portrait session with me. There's still time. Get your session booked before the holiday so that way you can use it for your holiday cards! Contact me above!

Thais and her mom rocked this session at Roger Williams Park. Thanks for the fun time Thais!

MA Senior Portrait Photographer: Kelly

It's not often I get to photograph high school seniors anymore. That's weird for me to even say since my business started as only photographing high school seniors. But now-a-days I photograph about 10 seniors a year.

Kathy, Kelly's mom, contacted me a month ago about having her two daughters photographed. As soon as I met with these ladies I knew they'd be a blast to work with. Kelly is currently in high school but you wouldn't be able to tell right off the bat. Her maturity level shines right through and you could swear she's definitely over 19! Maybe that's why Kelly is her class president who goes above and beyond not only for her school but for her community as well and she's so humble about it. It speaks volumes when someone does so much and asks for nothing in return and that's definitely Kelly. We explored the cool alleyways and streets in downtown Providence and walked away with some pretty awesome photos. It was definitely a session to remember. I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do!

RI Maternity Photographer: Louie, Tanna & Liam

I first met Tanna & Louie a year ago where they contacted me to capture their 1 year anniversary. We had a blast at Lincoln State Woods on a beautiful March day.  A year later, Tanna contacted me again with some big news. I remember I got a text from her saying "RYAN. GUESS WHAT!" And at first, I thought maybe she wanted to get her second anniversary photographed, but her news was much more exciting than that. She had a baby boy on the way, and it was time to capture the next chapter of their story together.

Liam can't have better parents than these two. They are two of the most loving, kind, clients I know and Liam is blessed to call them Mommy & Daddy. With just two weeks to go, it'll be any day now that they welcome him to this world.

I am so blessed to be a photographer and capture moments like these on camera. Photos that Tanna, Louie and Liam will look back on when he's 20, and say "wow, look how big your belly was mom!" My job is seriously awesome.

Senior Portrait: Savanah | MA Senior Portrait Photographer

Wow. What a week it's been.

This past weekend, I photographed Danielle & Jorge's Lovebird Session, Nicole & Michael's Walt Disney Themed Wedding (I know!) and, I just wrapped up my cousin Alexis's senior session. I've been so busy that I haven't even had time to blog! So without further ado meet: Savanah.

Savannah and I met a while back when I photographed her sister, Jenna for her senior portraits. At that time, I think Savannah might have been in 7th or 8th grade so it's been awhile. I actually photographed Savannah shortly after Jenna since their mom wanted professional photos of both of them :). Savannah hasn't changed one bit. She's still as spunky, fun, and upbeat as I remembered her to be. Her sister Jenna hasn't changed either! These two are like family to me. I love it when I can go to a photo shoot and just feel like I'm photographing two family members. Here's some of my favorites from our time together.

Senior Portrait: Mel | MA Senior Portrait Photographer

Mel knew of my name through a bunch of mutual friends. Although she was a senior at Somerset High, a school that I don't photograph often, she knew of the name "Ryan DeVoll" when thinking about her senior portraits. It's crazy to me to see how far I've come with seniors. To doing exclusively at Durfee High to now photographing seniors all over MA, it's awesome.

She rocked her session at Horseneck Beach a few weeks ago. Now that the summer is officially over, I probably wont have the chance to go back here until next year. On that note - Goodbye summer, hello FALL!
